Each piece in this collection of bird illustrations represents a mythological Greek figure or figures, the fate of whom has been derailed by the gods. Each is an homage to a character set unfairly against forces too powerful to defeat. Often when we take an interest in myths and folk stories, we’re drawn to the mysticism and wonder of a fantastical event. Rather than focus on that, I wanted the pieces in this series to convey a sense respect and praise to the concepts humility and humanness.
